Robert J. (Bob) Carr, age 88, of Ulysses, Kansas died Friday, December 23, 2016 at Homestead Health and Rehabilitation in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 16, 1928 in Falls City, Nebraska, the son of Clifford W. and Hazel Fern (Stewart) Carr.

Bob married Linda in 1949; she preceded him in death in 1996. Bob moved to Ulysses, Kansas in 1997. He worked as a front-end mechanic at Firestone, Western Motors and Wal-Mart in Garden City. Bob like to travel, gamble, fish and working on wood projects.

He is survived by Rosalie Collum, his significant other for the last 20 years; son, Patrick Carr of Garden City, Kansas; daughters, Paula Condon of Lincoln, Nebraska, Kelly Stever of Wichita, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Preston Carr, Tony Naab, Samantha Naab, Delta Nelson, Shawn Mooney, Brandon Condon, Sundance Hoyt, and Dusty Stevenson; 11 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Carr; mother and step-father, Hazel and Roy Ankron; brothers, C.W. Carr, Norman Carr; daughter, Pamela Pickens; and granddaughter, Janice Rafferty.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Harry Hynes Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
