Robert Dean “Bob” Maupin, age 69, died Sunday, June 13, 2021, at his home in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born December 7, 1951, in Hugoton, Kansas, the son of Vernon K. and Martha Lee (Reames) Maupin.
Bob lived in Hugoton until 1966 when his family moved to Ulysses, and graduated from Ulysses High School in 1970. Bob continued his education at a trade school in Wichita and attended Emporia State University. In 1975, Bob began working with his Dad at Maupin Electric and retired in 2018. He was a Master Electrician and also worked in the heating and air conditioning industry. As a youth, he was an Eagle Scout; and later enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting coins, and loved working in the yard. Bob was also an avid KC Royals fan and enjoyed volunteering his time and efforts for Pheasants Forever.
Bob married Debra Ybarra on June 5, 1993, in Ulysses; she survives. Other survivors include his son, Zac Ybarra and wife Cody of Frontenac, Kansas; sister, Mary Keller and husband Kenny of Ulysses; mother-in-law, Corina Ybarra of Ulysses; niece, Sheri Keller, nephew, Kevin Keller; and two grandchildren, Ripley and Ronin Ybarra.

Memorial service will be Friday, June 18, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Aneesh Parappanattu, MSFS officiating. The service will also be live streamed on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Catherine Hospice, Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church Scholarship Fund, or the Grant County Scholarship Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W.
