Robert Dale (Bob) Stout

Robert Dale (Bob) Stout, died Friday, January 19, 2018.  He was born July 31, 1935, the middle child of William Eldon Stout and Mildred Faye Connery Stout.  He attended Alden schools, and graduated in 1953.  He then attended Sterling College and played on the baseball and football teams.  After one year of college, he joined the Army and served with pride during the Korean Conflict.  It was during his service in the Army that he met his wife of 60 years, M’Lou Reed Stout.  They were married February 14, 1957.  To this union three children were born:  William Reed Stout, Will Robert Stout, and Willete Roanne Stout.
 
Bob and M’Lou raised their family in Sterling, KS where Bob worked for Co-Op for many years.  He returned to school to become a draftsman.  Bob worked for Beech Aircraft and the Boeing where he worked on the cockpit of the original 747.  He then went back to his roots as a ranch hand which took the family to Colorado and eventually back to Paradise, KS.   It was while he was in Paradise that he answered the call of God to become minister in the Methodist Church.  He served the church for 21 years.  One of his favorite ministries was the Boots and Bible Church camp at Camp Lakeside.  After retirement he continued to serve the Lord in Volunteers in Mission.  He and M’Lou traveled many miles with their travel trailer to repair and build for those in need.
 
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan and Thais, daughter Roanne, grandson-in-law Dyron Paul Schutte.  Survivors of Bob include wife M’Lou  of the home, son William (Bill) Stout and wife Lynnetta , and Will Stout and wife Patti.  There are seven grandchildren: Jessica Reed and husband Tate; Rachel Bostowick and husband Jake; David Stout; Shane Stout and wife Michelle; Mary Jo Stout; Jenna Miller; and Diana Schutte and husband Derek.  Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren.
 
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Plains United Methodist Church.  In lieu of flowers the family request a memorial to Camp Lakeside in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
