Robert D. “Bobby” Williams

Robert D. “Bobby” Williams, age 68, died Thursday, June 11, 2020, at his home in rural Grant County, Kansas. He was born January 10, 1952, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Bill and Venicia Ray.

When Bobby was two years old, he was adopted by Bud and Ruby (King) Williams. As a youth, he had the 4-H Grand Champion Steer for several years. Bobby graduated from Ulysses High School in 1970. He was an accomplished organist and pianist. He played the organ for several years at the St. John’s Episcopal Church where he was a member. Bobby, a cook and farmer, enjoyed restoring old cars.

Bobby is survived by two sons, Damien Williams and wife Rachel of Palestine, Texas, and Quentin Williams and wife Audra of Lemoore, California; sister, Katherine McGillivray and husband Bill of Lawrence, Kansas; three grandchildren and expecting another one soon.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Ruby Williams; and grandparents, O.P. and Maree Williams, and C.N. and Evah King.
