Robert “Bob” Whetstone, 70, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his residence.
He was the son of Olin & Viola (Whetstone) Whetstone, he was born on February 7, 1947 in Liberal, KS.
He was lifetime resident of Hugoton.
He and Juanita Jones were married on October 1, 1969 at Wichita Falls, TX.
He served in the United States Army.
Bob loved his family and enjoyed being with them. He always had a smile on his face and was joking with everyone.
He work for Stevens County Road and Bridge for 27 years and retired. After retiring he went to work for Dillco as a water hauler. He really enjoyed the guys calling him Uncle Bob.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Whetstone, Hugoton, KS., two sons, Johnny Dunback, Hugoton, KS., Todd Whetstone & wife Shannon, Liberal, KS.; Shelley Porter, St. Mary’s, GA.; a brother, Mickie & wife Pat Whetstone, Moscow, KS.; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, baby Anthony Whetstone, Eddie Dunback, two brothers, Kenneth & Norman Carl Whetstone.
A memorial has been established for Pheasant Heaven Charities. Memorials may be mailed to Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home, PO Box Hugoton, KS 67951
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, KS at 2PM with Pastor Heath Kelley presiding.
Friends may call Tuesday 10AM to 8PM at the funeral home.
