Robert “Bob” Martin

Robert (Bob) Martin, age57, died Monday, September 01, 2011 at his home in Elkhart, Kansas. He was born September 25, 1953 in Liberal, Kansas the son of Robert Kenneth and Beverly Marie (Fager) Martin.

Bob moved to Elkhart as a young man from Guymon, Oklahoma. He graduated from Elkhart High School. He retired from the oilfield. Bob married Cheryl Pasley on December 28, 1995 in Elkhart, Kansas. He liked to pheasant hunt, and garden. He enjoyed sparring with his grandson, visiting with friends and washing dishes at Big C’s Restaurant and was known by many.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Martin of the home; two daughters, Brenda Rae Herron and husband Chad, Dena Jo Martin all of Elkhart, Kansas; two sisters, Karen West and husband Ron of Wichita, Kansas, Betty Kay Wichter and husband Cecil of Topeka, Kansas; 17grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Melinda Krey; and brother, Raymond Martin.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Elkhart, Kansas with Gary Talbert officiating. Memorials may be given to the Elkhart V.F.W. Auxiliary in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
