Robert “Bob” Eugene Blain passed away on February 1, 2022, after a long, arduous battle with cancer. Bob was born on July 19, 1947, in Cherokee, OK. He attended grade school in Oklahoma before moving to Liberal, KS where he graduated from Liberal High School in 1965. Bob spent 39 years until his retirement as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and could recall any address in Liberal. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge serving as Exalted Ruler from 2006 – 2007. To call him an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan would be an understatement. He was a football season ticket holder for over 20 years. Saturdays were spent either at the Sooners game, watching it on TV, or listening to it on the radio. He never missed a game; making sure everyone knew he was Sooner Born and Sooner Bred. Bob enjoyed fishing, a hot Keno ticket and his many furry kiddos over the years.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Ellsworth Blain; mother and stepfather, Ramona and Kenneth Campbell; brothers Dave, Thomas, Jim, and Bill; sisters Pat Rosell and Debra Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lenda Rae Blain (Wichita); son Ron (Lisa) Blain of Bonney Lake, WA; daughters Kerri (Anne Marie Seiler) Blain and Bella (chihuahua) of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Meg (Ben) Moe, Becca Blain, and Maddi Blain, all of Washington; great granddaughter Eadlyn and many nieces and nephews.
Sooner Nation lost their number ONE fan. Boomer Sooner.
