On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the world lost a remarkable soul with the passing of Robert “Bob” Deacon.
Bob was born on January 17, 1953, to Edward J. and Mary (Ford) Deacon in Varina, Iowa.
He graduated from Laurens High School in 1971 and continued his academic pursuits at Hawkeye Tech and earned an associate’s degree in Animal Husbandry.
On December 27, 1975, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Carolyn “Dee Dee” Sinclair. Bob’s faith and family was the cornerstone of his world. He took immense pride in his children, Josh, Ben, and Bekah. Bob attended every sporting event for his children and later his grandchildren whom he loved deeply.
He served as a manager for Dekalb Swine Breeders and later ventured into ownership and management of Pork Chop Hill. Additionally, he flourished as a self-employed General Contractor.
A man of deep faith and spirituality, Bob’s love for worship music and his role as a pastor and an apostolic prayer leader were testaments to his devout beliefs. His involvement in the Liberal Ministerial Alliance reflected his commitment to serving his community and spreading love and compassion to those around him.
In his leisure time, Bob found joy in crafting gifts, gardening, and spending time with his beloved family. His life revolved around Christ Jesus, whose teachings guided and shaped his every action.
Bob preached Jesus’ love to everybody, and he wanted everyone he knew to be where he is today. His legacy of faith, family, and devotion will continue to inspire all that had the opportunity of knowing him.
