Robert (Bob) David Hill

Robert (Bob) David Hill, age 94, long time Tyrone resident and farmer, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Bob, the first child of Jesse and Rachel (Wells) Hill was born April 20, 1929, north of Optima, OK. Bob attended various elementary schools in the Northwest Flats north of Guymon. After completing 8th grade, he started his life career of farming and as a self-taught mechanic. He was never too busy to help someone in need day or night.

On May 21, 1952, Bob married the love of his life Alice Mae Kraber of Rolla, Kansas in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Their first home was in Tyrone where Bob was employed by Ernest Woodward and later his family in farming and ranching which continued for almost 50 years. He was always relieved and happy when all the harvesting was finished. During the winter months he and Ernest enjoyed hunting coyotes.

He was blessed with three daughters: Debra Ann, Aleta Jane and Dana Kaye who were the light of his life. Much of his enjoyment was getting to see his four grandchildren in various activities which included venturing to parts of Kansas and Texas that he had never seen before.

Bob was a member of the Tyrone United Methodist Church, now known as the Tyrone Gospel Church where he helped with whatever needed to be done. After farming had slowed down, he and Alice enjoyed refinishing furniture, which are now treasured by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Mae, daughters Debbie (Galen) Towner of Perryton TX, Aleta (Roy) Arnold of Liberal KS, brother Richard Hill and friend Gail of Woodward OK, sister-in-laws Jonice (Hill) Oblander of Liberal, Irma Daniels of Rolla, KS, Sharon Kraber of Guymon, OK, Jean Bane, of Elkhart, KS, brother-in-law Bob Cotter of Liberal KS, sister Bonnie Springmeyer of Liberal, KS, grandchildren David Towner of Friona, TX, Brandon (Crystal) Towner of Perryton, TX, Amy (Ty) Caudell of Edmond, OK and Angela Arnold of Liberal, KS. His great-grandchildren are Caley, Mya, Liam, Macy, Ashley, Janet, Zoe and Bailey. His Great-great-grandchildren are Bernice and Aylin.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Dana, parents Jesse & Rachel Hill, brother Fred, brothers-in-law Otis Lee Daniels, John Kraber, Gary Bane, and sister-in-law Bernadean Cotter.

Memorials are suggested to the Tyrone Fire Department and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Tyrone Gospel Church with Rev. Jim Reeves officiating.

Interment will be in the Tyrone Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
