Rick E. Littlefield, age 71, passed away March 2, 2020, at his Plains, Kansas, residence.
He was born November 19, 1948, at Liberal, Kansas, the son of Frank Lawrence and Margaret Erlene (Hale) Littlefield. As a young boy he attended school in Plains, graduating from Southwestern Heights High School in 1967. After his graduation, he attended Dodge City Community College, playing on the basketball team. He later attended Fort Hays State University. Upon completion of his schooling, he began working in the oilfield and later for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline.
He was a member of the Plains Friends Church. He enjoyed basketball, baseball, reading, studying history, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Lance Steven Littlefield and wife Kimberly of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Cash Owen Littlefield and wife Emily of Farmersville, Louisiana; a brother, Randy Ray Littlefield and wife Charlene of Wichita, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Owen, Stevie and Keegan Littlefield.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Littlefield in 1945, and Rodney Littlefield in 1969; and a sister Karen Kay Littlefield in 1948.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Plains Friends Church. Private family interment has taken place in the Plains Cemetery.
