Richard Locke

Richard Lloyd Locke, 93, of Tucson, Arizona passed away December 18, 2015 in Tucson.
Richard was born July 21, 1922 in Tyrone, Oklahoma, the son of Lloyd and Anna Swant Locke. He went to school and graduated from Tyrone High School.
On May 11, 1945 in Tyrone, Oklahoma, Richard was united in marriage to Vir-Jean Louise Wadley. He then entered the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War as a Navy pilot flying off carriers. After his honorable discharge he returned at went to college in Russell, Kansas and then received a bachelor’s degree in business from Oklahoma State A&M in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He began working for Tuloma Oil in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas in 1959 and later worked for Standard Oil in Chicago, Illinois.
Richard retired a couple of times but with all his connections continued to work in oil sales and transport until 1966 when he and Vir-Jean retired to Tucson, Arizona. Vir-Jean passed way February 1, 2013.
Richard was a member of Tucson Baptist Temple.
Members of the family are his two daughters, Deborah Dreier of Somerset, California and Rhonda Wright of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters in law, Glenna Gamble of Denver, Colorado and Joyce Wadley of Tyrone, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Dee-Anna Bradley, Stephanie Wright, Philip Wright and his wife Mae; five great grandchildren, Austen, Benjamin, Ryder, Mabel and Henry and a host of family.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home with interment in the Tyrone Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945.
