Richard H. (Dick) Yust

Richard H. (Dick) Yust, age 68, passed away Friday afternoon, April 15, 2022, at his Montezuma, Kansas, residence.

He was born April 16, 1953, at Larned, KS, the son of Willis and Frances (Lore) Yust. As a young boy, he attended school in Stafford, Kansas, graduating from Stafford High School in 1971. After his graduation, he attended Kansas State University and later Wichita State University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in accounting. A resident of Montezuma for several years, he was a CPA and a painter.​ Richard enjoyed playing trumpet, and also playing guitar as well as singing for many years. Playing board games with family and friends was a highlight. As a member of K-9 Search and Rescue of Kansas he had the enjoyment of being trained, and training canines to perform the goals of K-9 S&R of KS. And as many can confirm, Richard always through his life had interests in archeology, camping and fishing! ​​​​

On May 25, 1974, he married Connie Davidson at the Zion United Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Rick Yust and wife Kristy, Michael Yust and wife Ameila, Jonathan Yust and wife Susanna, and Christopher Yust and wife Jessica; a brother, Jim Yust and wife Karen; a sister, Judy Story and husband Ed; a sister-in-law, Rexanna; four grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Clara, and Elizabeth; two nieces, Connie and Debbe; and a nephew Craig.

There will be no public viewing, as cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date. Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, has been entrusted with service arrangements.
