Richard D. Lee, age 79, passed away Saturday morning, October 20, 2018, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.
 
He was born November 4, 1938, at Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Harry Ernest and Ethel Lee (Kearns) Roberts.  As a young boy he attended the Fowler school system.  A lifetime resident of rural Fowler, he was a farmer and rancher, owned and operated Lee’s Auto Repair as a mechanic, and Lee’s Windmill and Well Service.
 
He was a member of the International Flying Farmers and a board member of the ASCS.  He enjoyed woodworking, artwork, flying his airplanes, and spending time with his family and friends.
 
In 1956, he married Roberta Griffee at Larned, Kansas.  After several years of marriage, the couple divorced.  On September 2, 1988, he married Linda Rae Bliss at Fowler, Kansas.  She survives.
 
Other survivors include a son, Michael Lee and wife Rose of Fowler; a stepson, Alan Thornburg and wife Nikki of Fowler; a daughter, Diana Parker and husband Lance of Garden City, Georgia; a stepdaughter, Belinda Thornburg of Wichita, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the United Methodist Church, Fowler.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm. At Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler.
 
The family would welcome memorials to the Fowler United Methodist Church or the Vera Waters Art Center of Fowler, in care of the funeral home.
