Richard C. Broadbent, 63, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away October 15, 2021, at Belton Regional Hospital in Belton, Missouri after a short bout with cancer.
Richard was born August 5, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of George Richard and Elizabeth Hammond Broadbent. Rick grew up in Wichita and graduated from Wichita North High School.
Rick was united in marriage to Tammy Stroud on June 30, 1984. They have two children Jake Austin and Nikki Aspen.
In 1986, they moved from Wichita to Hooker, Oklahoma. Rick farmed and worked construction. He could fix or build anything.
He drove all kinds of semi-trucks all over the United States and hauled everything imaginable over his twenty-five years of driving.
He loved his two kids more than anything. He helped them learn how to fix things and picked on them to see their great smiles and wonderful laughter.
Rick is survived by his wife, Tammy, of the home; children, Jake and Nikki Broadbent; sister, Rebecca Broadbent of Valley Center, Kansas; sisters in law, Linda and Miles Blankenship of Wichita, Kansas, Brenda and Dave Robinson of Tucson, Arizona along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Pastor Mike McReynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
Memorials are suggested to the Hooker Ambulance Association or the Hooker Firefighters and may be left at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma, 73945.
