Ricardo Rodriguez

Ricardo Rodriguez, age 76, of Ulysses, Kansas died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his home in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born January 8, 1922 in El Terrero Namiquipa Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Reinaldo and Rosario (Medina) Rodriguez.

Ricardo grew up in Mexico. He married Gricelda Ortega in 1955 in Allende Mexico. They moved to Great Bend, Kansas in 1977. He was a yard operator for Great Bend Feeders, retiring in 2004. They moved to Ulysses in 2005 to be near family and help with the farming. A humble man, Ricardo enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Gricelda of their home; sons, Guadalupe Rodriguez and wife Alicia, Ricardo Rodriguez and wife Eloisa, Eriet Rodriguez and wife Rosa; daughters, Isidra Rodriguez de Vargas, Bilga Esparza, Aide Rascon, and Mireya Crawford; 31 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. 

Ricardo is preceded in death by two daughters, Bany Antllon and Zulet Harp.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Manuel P. Perez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call at Primera Iglesia Bautista from 6:00 PM on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Arrangements are in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
