Ricardo Idrogo Rangel

Ricardo Idrogo Rangel, age 61, of Ulysses, Kansas died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born August 18, 1951 in Adrian City, Michigan, the son of Carlos Rangel and Elsie Celsa (Idrogo) Rangel Martinez.

Ricardo was a forklift operator for 33 years at Kroy Industries. He married Maria Del Rosario Guerrero on March 24, 1979 in Springfield, Colorado. Ricardo was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, served on the Finance Committee, Religion Education Board, and taught catechism. Since 1982, he has been an active member of Cursillista Movement. He donated blood to the Red Cross, enjoyed fishing and watching John Wayne Western movies. Ricardo was an enthusiastic handyman and carpenter and always had a project going.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Rangel, of the home; sons, Kevin Rangel of Wichita, Kansas, Ricky Rangel of Ulysses, Kansas, Kenny Rangel of Ulysses, Kansas; step-daughter, Erica Patricia Guerrero of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers, Carlos Rangel of Walsh, Colorado, Rene Rangel of Denver, Colorado; sister, Susie Rangel Vasquez of Walsh, Colorado; step-father, Roman Martinez of Springfield, Colorado; and two grandchildren, Hiram Abdias DeLao and Alec Saint Rangel.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Martin Martinez.

Vigil and Rosary service will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 7:00 PM and funeral mass will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM all at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Liver Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
