Rhonda Lynn Neal

Rhonda Lynn Neal, age 69, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Friday, December 16, 2022, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. She was born June 15, 1953, in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Harold Lloyd “Buddy” and Laura Lee (Steen) Heaton.

Rhonda grew up in Grant County. She married Ray Neal on March 23, 2001, in Ulysses. Rhonda worked at Nu-Way Cleaners and various local feed yards. She enjoyed rodeoing, and barrel racing, but what she enjoyed the most was being a grandma.

Rhonda is survived by her daughters, Karen Lauppe of Satanta, and Kerry Becker of Ulysses; brothers, Ted Heaton and wife Judy of Hugoton, and Tom Heaton of Hugoton; sisters, Linda Brecheisen and husband Randy of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, and Cindy Galloway of Ulysses; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Laura Lee Heaton; brother, Buddie Heaton; son-in-law, Eric Becker; and grandchildren, Kylie Jo and Collin Ray Becker.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Ulysses Cemetery with Pastor Gerry Dupuis officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
