Rene Yadir Figueroa Fierro

Rene Yadir Figueroa Fierro, age 17, died Thursday, June 15, 2023, at his home in Johnson, Kansas. He was born February 2, 2006, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Rene Figueroa Rojas and Maira Lizbeth Fierro.

Rene grew up in Ulysses and attended Ulysses High School. He was currently living in Johnson where he worked in construction remodeling homes. Rene enjoyed playing video games and hanging out with friends.

Rene is survived by his father and stepmother, Rene Figueroa Rojas and Marlina Ortega of Lamar, Colorado; mother and stepfather, Maira Fierro and Ricardo Leyva of Ulysses; siblings, Isaac Leyva, Ricardo Leyva and Irma Leyva all of Ulysses; Romeo Figueroa, Hayden Figueroa, Kihanna Figueroa, Ilianna Figueroa, Aitana Figueroa, Nuvia Figueroa and Emmett Figueroa all of Lamar, and Elias Guillen of Johnson; and grandfather, Ruben Fierro of Mexico.

Rene is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Emmanuel Ministierio Church in Ulysses with Pastor George Devora officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
