Rebecca Jo Harmon, age 71, died on Saturday, December 28, 2024, in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on October 8,1953, in Hugoton, Kansas, to Charles J. and Mabel (Shorter) Harmon.

Rebecca’s adventurous spirit found her taking on various roles throughout her career. She worked as a cosmetologist and did field work for Panhandle Eastern. But her true calling came when she ventured into the medical field. She went to Coffeeville to receive her EMT/Paramedic Training. As an EMT and Paramedic, her devotion to service led her to go to SCCC to earn her associates degree and become a Registered Nurse. She worked for both Southwest Medical Center and Good Samaritans as an RN. She will be greatly missed and remembered by her family and all who were fortunate to meet her in her lifetime.

She is survived by her parents, Charles and Mabel Harmon of Hugoton, Kansas,
Brothers, Mark Harmon of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and
Kim Harmon and his wife Mary of Salina, Kansas,
One sister, Carol Stoops and her husband, Keb of Hugoton, Kansas, and
Numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents.

Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, January 6, 2025, at Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton, Kansas.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Liberal Animal Shelter in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
