Raymond Richardson

Raymond Ora Richardson, 84, of Liberal, passed away on March 21, 2015 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on October 22, 1930 to Patrick and Charlotte (Liby) Richardson at Niles, KS.

On February 3, 1955 he married Lois "Susie" Brooks at the Clayton, NM. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2006.

He graduated high school in Minneapolis, KS, class of 1948. In 1950 Ray joined the US Navy in San Diego, California where he served in Korea and China. Upon his discharge from the Navy in 1954 he worked in construction until he went to work with Halliburton. He then went to work with Western Services in Houston, Texas, moving back to Liberal to go work with Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co as a Machinist. Ray retired in 1986 after working for over 25 years with Panhandle. He was a member of Boy Scouts Troop 47 as an Assistant Scout Master and a former member of the of Liberal ELKS club.

Ray is survived by two sons- Alan Richardson and wife Michelle of Woodward, OK, Scot Richardson and wife Tammie of Williston, ND; three daughters- Vicki Crouch and husband Tony of Arkansas City, KS, Jacki Fisher and husband George of Blanchard, OK, Teresa Ray of Woodward, OK. and 11 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death his parents, one brother- Patrick, two sisters- Donna June Richardson and Twila Dority, son in law – Terry Monroe and grandson Timmy Monroe.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015, 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Miller Mortuary.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, 2:00 pm at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens with Caleb Coldwater officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the Boy Scouts of America in care of Miller Mortuary.
