Raymond E. Klotz, age 86 passed away Saturday afternoon, May 29, 2021, at his Meade, Kansas, residence.
He was born May 11, 1935, at Englewood, Kansas, the son of Max and Mary (Butts) Klotz. As a young boy he attended school in Englewood, graduating from Englewood High School in 1954. Upon his graduation, he joined the United States Army. After his discharge, he attended Dodge City Community College, receiving his Associates Degree. He then began his career as an electrician, working for Western Electric for several years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends.
On May 31, 1958, he married Norma Jenks at Lakin, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Max Klotz of Dodge City, Kansas, and Earnest Klotz of Hutchinson, Kansas; two daughters, Kim Grund of Dodge City, Kansas, and Susan Klotz of Kinsley, Kansas; two brothers, Rodger Koltz of Meade, and Jerry Klotz of Lakin, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren, including Sadie, Lacey, Lindsey, and Eric that he and Norma raised; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Englewood Cemetery, Englewood.
