Raymond Carl “Ray” Leaming, 82, died Sunday March 6, 2011 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal, KS .
He was born March 23, 1928 in Greenough, Beaver County, Oklahoma the son of Roy and Stella (Wyer) Leaming. He has been a resident of Liberal for the past 82 years.
He was a 1946 graduate from Liberal High School. In 1957 he graduated from the Industrial Training Institute and in 1958 he graduated from the Cleveland Electronics School and later graduated from the Correspondence School in electronics in Chicago, IL.
He helped his brother run the Leaming Laundry in Liberal. He was the purchasing agent and warehouse superintendent for Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company and National Helium for 36 years. He owned and operated Leaming Radio and Television for 18 years. He had several U.S. patents in electronics.
He was a member and secretary for the Noon Lions Club, a member of the First Southern Baptist Church , PEPL Employees Club and the First Prestige Club.
He was a charter member of the Kansas National Guard and served from 1948 – 1951.
On June 2, 1951, he married Carolyn Morris. She died December 11, 1984. He married Bonita Swafford. She died March 5, 1999. He married Mary Holmes-Wakefield. She died June 23, 2008.

4 Grandchildren Kalin and Jennifer Farrow, Liberal, KS; Drew and Tracy Farrow , Douglasville, GA ; Kristal Farrow, Manhattan, KS ; and Joshua Leaming, Lawton, OK ;
7 Great Grandchildren Chalin Farrow, Midland, TX ; Kylan Farrow, Manhattan, KS; Colton Leaming and Kegan Leaming, Lawton, OK; Brianna Wedel, Brayden Wedel and Kylie Farrow of Liberal KS.
Preceded in death by his parents and 1 Brother Eldon Leaming, 2 Sisters Lucille Smith and Evelyn Whiteley.
Funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday at First Southern Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Leaming and Dr. Jack Jacob presiding. Burial will be held in Liberal Cemetery.
Visitation time 9am to 8pm Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8pm to greet friends, and Thursday 9 to 11am at Brenneman Funeral Home.
