Raymon R. Mitchell

Raymon R. Mitchell, age 93, died Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal. He was born March 15, 1924 in Tyrone, Oklahoma, the son of Richey Brown “RB” and Elsie May (Kilgore) Mitchell.

Raymon Graduated from High School in Oklahoma. He married Irene Rose Smith on January 8, 1967 in Liberal, Kansas. They were married for 49 years. Irene preceded Raymon in death November 20, 2016.

Raymon Served proudly in the Navy CB’s during World War II from August 1943 to February 1946.

He was a Farmer for 22 years was and a Purchaser for the Liberal Iron and Metal for 30 years.

He was a Lifetime member of the American Legion.
An avid outdoors man, he enjoyed camping fishing and hunting.

Survivors include:
Brother Dean Mitchell and his wife Joann of Turpin, Oklahoma

Step-son Terry Harvey and his wife Kathryn of Georgia

Raymon was also preceded in death by his Parents, 3 Brothers, Lloyd, Clyde & Bob. 3 Sisters, Inis McAnarney, Louise Scoggins & Mildred Cowan.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Funeral Services will be Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM both at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal with Pastor Stan Lehnert Presiding
Interment will follow in the Plains Cemetery in Plains, Kansas
