Raul Mizraim Lamas

Raul Mizraim Lamas, 22, passed away on May 22, 2022 at Meade District Hospital in Meade, Kansas. He was surrounded by his family. Raul was born on December 10, 1999 to Bertha (Chavez) and Raul Lamas in Juarez, Mexico. He attended elementary school in Plains, Kansas and graduated from Southwestern Heights High School in 2020.

Raul always brought a smile with him when he entered a room, and consequently, he made others smile, too. He enjoyed drawing and coloring. While watching his favorite shows on TV, Raul ate his favorite snack: potato chips. He never missed an episode of La Indian Maria or Thomas the Train, but his favorite character was Woody from Toy Story.

Raul is survived by his parents, Raul and Bertha Lamas of Plains, KS; a sister, Jennifer Lamas of Plains, KS; maternal grandmother, Maria Moreno of Plains, KS; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Raul was a blessing to his family, and they will miss him greatly.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jaime Lamas and Oralia Pena; and maternal grandfather, Manuel Chavez.

Visitation with an all-night vigil will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Plains Community Building.

Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday,May 26, 2022 at the Plains Community Building with Pastor Joshua Poppa officiating. Committal service will immediately follow at the Plains Cemetery.
