Raul L. Rodriguez

Raul L. Rodriguez was born April 30, 1945, in Elkhart, Kansas, the son of Basilio and Dolores (Reyes) Rodriguez, and passed away in Liberal, Kansas, on April 29, 2022, just a few hours shy of his 77th birthday.

Raul grew up in Elkhart and graduated from Elkhart High School. He attended one year of college at St. Mary of the Plains in Dodge City, Kansas. He was employed as a Dietician at the Morton County Hospital, Hugoton Pioneer Manor, and Stevens County Hospital, until his retirement.

Raul was an accomplished vocalist, musician and cook. He loved to sing and play the piano. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart, Kansas, where he loved attending Mass and helping with services. Raul especially loved the Lord and talking and praying to Him daily.

One of six boys and one sister, Raul loved his family. He is survived by 3 of the brothers: Richard and wife Karen of Rolla, Kansas, David of Columbus, Georgia, and Charles and wife Joyce, in Georgetown, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Raul is preceded in death by his parents, Basilio and Dolores Rodriguez, two brothers and one sister.

Raul was his own man and will be truly missed.

Rosary will be Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 9:30 AM and Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM both at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart, Kansas, with Reverend Francis Khoi Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
