Pedro Zuñiga , age 73, died May 3, 2011 at his residence in rural Liberal, KS .
He was born May 13, 1937 at Alvaro Obregon, Dgo , Mexico , the son of Genaro and Herminia Cuevas Zuñiga .
He retired in 2002 from the City of Liberal where he worked as an equipment operator for the street department. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Cursillo group at the church.
In July 1957, he married Angela Sanchez Hernandez at Ignacio Ramirez, Dgo . Mex. She survives.

Daniel Zuñiga and wife Connie of Liberal, KS
5 Daughters– Antonia Meraz and husband Rafael of Durango, Mex
Claudia Eliza Valenzuela and husband Alfredo of Durango, Mex
Juana Montez and husband Gabriel of Durango, Mex.
Maria Victoria Hernandez and husband Gonzalo of Liberal, KS
Araceli LaPoint and husband John Robert of Liberal, KS

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers – Francisco Ortiz Cuevas and Jose Zuniga Cuevas and a grandson.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Friday, May 6th at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Dieker presiding. Burial will be held in Liberal Cemetery .
Vigil and Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 5 to 8pm Wednesday 9 am to 5 pm Thursday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
