Pauline Thompson

Pauline Thompson, age 76, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born February 19, 1936 in Guymon, Oklahoma the daughter of Alfred and Minnie (Wainscott) Robinson.

Pauline grew up in Guymon, Oklahoma. She married Larry Thompson on June 20, 1952 in Guymon. They moved to the farm in Morton County, Kansas in 1954 and began farming together. Pauline, a homemaker, was very devoted to her family and her church. She supported missionaries, as their work was important to her. She also loved to travel and read. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart.

She is survived by one son, Stephen L. Thompson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Nita J. Thompson and Terry L. Ferguson both of Elkhart, Kansas; five grandchildren, Jason Cooper, Kathy Bell, G.W. Cooper, Dusty Ferguson, and Tara Phillips; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, on February 5, 2004; parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart, Kansas with Pastor Ed Richards, Reverend Ginger Howl, and Reverend David Johnson officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart, Kansas. Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the First Baptist Church for missionaries or the Morton County Libarary in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
