Pauline Rosalie Whitham

Pauline Rosalie Whitham, 102, of Liberal, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Liberal Good Samaritan Care Center in Liberal, KS.

She was born on November 1, 1919 to Frank and Ida (Kittle) Novak at Scott City, KS.

On November 1, 1937 she married H. T. (Thaine) Whitham; he preceded her in death in August 1999.

She attended grade school at Modoc, KS and then went on to graduate from Scott City High School; class of 1937. Pauline and her husband H.T. spent many years farming and ranching in Scott County, KS. In 1954 they sold their farming operation then traveled for a couple years settling in Banning, CA in 1956. While in Banning, CA, she and H.T. started a General Contracting business building custom homes. Upon retiring they moved to Hemet, CA where they built a small apartment complex and enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren. After H.T. passed in 1999 Pauline moved to Liberal, KS to be closer to her son Butch.

Pauline is survived by Two Sons, Franklin Thaine “Butch” Whitham and wife Janet of Moscow, KS, Orley Whitham and Carole of Roseville, CA; Daughter, Shirley May and husband Richard of Santa Clarita, CA; Three Grandsons, Matt Whitham, Scott Whitham,  and Josh Whitham; Three Granddaughters, Misty Covington, Annmarie Moreno, and Kelly Whitham; Several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Grandson, Jeff Whitham, Brother, Glenn Novak, Brother, Ray Novak, Sister, Caroline Whiden,

A Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Liberal Good Samaritan Care Center Chapel.
