Pauline Eldena Barnes

Pauline Eldena Barnes, 91, died Monday, May 16th, 2016, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver, OK. She was born on April 30th, 1925, in Logan, KS. She was the daughter of Rudolph Lang and Bertha (Weiss) Lang.

Pauline graduated from Chapman High School in Chapman, KS. She attended college at Bethel College. She worked for a year in Washington, DC at the Washington Naval Yard, before returning. She married Richard Denton Barnes on July 28, 1947. They moved to Tyrone Oklahoma in 1960. She worked for many years as a baby sitter and in day care, touching the lives of many in the Tyrone area.

Pauline loved the Lord, and enjoyed the beauty of God’s creation, especially clouds. She loved to attend church, sang in the choir and liked reading inspirational books and the bible. She was a member of the Tyrone Baptist Church and the Tyrone Senior Citizens.

8 grandchildren; Serena Barnes; Zachariah Barnes and his wife Lynell; Lacey Woods and her husband Tommy; Cassie Ziller her husband David; Michael Gilbert; Lorrie Kraft and her husband Jon; Cary Harper and his wife Charrisa; and Montisha Barnes.

7 great-grandchildren; Cole Barnes, Tommy Ziller, Lillian Barnes, Allie Kraft, Benjamin Kraft, Anthony Harper and Christopher Harper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Paula Ann Barnes, brothers Norman, Howard, Orville and Melvin Lang; sisters Ruth Nevin and Melba Spence.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 20th, at the Tyrone Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Stone presiding. Burial will follow at Hartville Cemetery in Hardesty, OK. Visitation will be Thursday, May 19th from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 8.
