Paulette M. Fort

Paulette M. Fort, age 61, of Ulysses, Kansas died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born November 10, 1952 in Ellis, Kansas, the daughter of Martin and Esther (Fisher) Bieker.

Paulette grew up in Ellis and graduated from Ellis High School. She attended Colby Community College and Fort Hays State University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Library Science. Paulette married Greg Fort on July 26, 1975 in Hays, Kansas. They moved to Ulysses in 1975 and she was a homemaker and mother. From 1985 – 2000; she was a Guidance Counselor Secretary, and then worked at the central office as the Administrative Secretary for the Superintendent of Ulysses Schools. Paulette was an avid gardener and a wonderful cook and baker. She belonged to PEO, Jr. Civic, Big Orange Boosters, and was a Ulysses Tigers and KSU Fan.

She is survived by her husband, Greg of the home; daughter, Taryn Fort-Doyle and husband Matt Doyle of Denver, Colorado; son, Thayne Fort and wife Jennie of Denver, Colorado; brother, Jerry Bieker and wife Susie of Denver, Colorado; and one granddaughter, Ginger Doyle.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Tyson Gabriel Fort in 1985.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Janet Hernandez and Reverend Sam Bynum officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the DuGood Events in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
