Paul Wilson Light

Paul Wilson Light, age 94, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Morton County Hospital, Elkhart, Kansas. He was born December 28, 1917 at his family homestead in Stevens County, Kansas, the son of William Clarence and Zula (Tarter) Light.
Paul graduated from Rolla High School in 1936. He attended Fort Hays State University and served in the Army during WWII. Paul spent his life farming. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rolla, Kansas and was a former Mayor of Rolla, Kansas. Paul enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandkids.
On June 6, 1948 Paul married Beulah Murray in Eureka, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Charles Light of Rolla, Kansas; two daughters, Lorna Light of Rolla, Kansas and Mari Kate Harvey of Hugoton, Kansas; two brothers, William (W.J) Light and James Light, both of Rolla, Kansas; two sisters, Elsie Holcomb of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lesta Lou Muse of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Stephanie Bond and Kit Bond and two great-grandchildren, Kyra and Katia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gale Light and Wayne Light; three sisters, Helen Girling, Dorothy Cullison and Edna Gilbert.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Rolla United Methodist Church, Rolla, Kansas with Pastor Sandy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at the Rolla Cemetery, Rolla, Kansas. Friends may call Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday, July 4, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Garnand Funeral Home Elkhart, Kansas.
