Paul M. Quiring

When someone’s sole existence is to make the world a better place one smile at a time, it makes one forget the craziness of this world.

Paul M. Quiring died on January 13, 2025, at the age of 49. He was born on May 14, 1975, in Garden City, Kansas to Leo and Jeanie Munoz. At three years of age, Paul became a member of the Quiring family. His parents are David and Lillian (Dick) Quiring of Liberal, Kansas.

Paul was an active participant at the Calvary Mennonite Church in Liberal. He enjoyed music and sang with enthusiasm. He attended Lincoln Pre-school/Elementary School, West Middle School, and Liberal High School and volunteered at the Liberal Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mid-Kansas Air Museum, and Liberal Public Library. After high school, long time caregivers expanded Paul’s world making community participation a reality. Paul made new friends at Burger King, Braum’s, Dillon’s, the Liberal Recreation Center, the Et Cetera Shop, Circle D Appliance, the community college, the

Southwest Medical Center, and numerous businesses and eateries. Paul loved daily car rides, playing with cards and cash registers, listening to stories and music, and talking on his “phone”.

Paul’s passion was people- shouting greetings to neighbors, giving hugs, greeting friends and customers within the community, inquiring about their children and pets, and being an engaged listener. He never forgot the name of any person and frequently gave nicknames to his friends. Sticky notes conveying messages of love, hope, and encouragement have been hand delivered to hundreds of people. No one he met will forget his gentle soul.
