Patti Lea Bellomy, age 73, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born January 4, 1946, in Rocky Ford, Colorado, the daughter of Wesley and June (Woods) Scofield.
Patti grew up in Rocky Ford and graduated from Rocky Ford High School. She then earned an associate’s degree from Seward County Community College. She settled in Elkhart after living in Rocky Ford, Colorado, Johnson, Kansas, and Keyes, Oklahoma. Patti married Jimmy Bellomy in September 18, 1999. She loved spending time with her grandkids and attending their events. She enjoyed dogs, and spending time walking them. Her hobbies included watching Detroit Redwings hockey team, watching and going to Nascar races to cheer on Carl Edwards.
Survivors include her children, Mark McCarty of Elkhart, Sherri Hitchings and husband Todd of Boise City, Oklahoma, Vicki Peacock and husband Jimmy of Elkhart, Debbie Lang and husband Jim of Dallas, Texas, Lanell Johnson and husband Eric of Elkhart, Lanette Patte and husband Richard of France, and Donny Bellomy and wife Chelsey of Emporia; sister, Judy Smith and husband Richard of Pueblo, Colorado; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Patti is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jimmy in 2010; sister, Marilyn Page, and grandson, Braden Peacock.
Graveside service will be held Monday, April 29, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas, with Reverend Terrell Giddens officiating.
