Patsy Ann Rist, 86, of Beaver, Oklahoma passed away September 6, 2024 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.
Patsy was born on April 15, 1938 at home in Gray, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ernest and Bertha Tregellas, she was the youngest of four children. Patsy attended school in Balko, Oklahoma and graduated in 1957. She received her Business degree at Panhandle State University in Goodwill, Oklahoma in 1961 and furthered her education at Adam’s State in Alamosa, Colorado receiving a Master’s Degree in Special Education.
Patsy was united in marriage to Ronald Rist on August 30, 1959 in Balko, Oklahoma.
She taught in the Springfield, Colorado school system for 12 years and then moved to Beaver, Oklahoma where she continued to teach another 20 years. She belonged to various teaching organizations and attended the First Baptist Church in Beaver.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Rist, parents, Ernest and Bertha Tregellas, sister Neva Belle Lewis and brothers, Bill Tregellas & Jack Tregellas.
On November 16, 2003 Patsy married Doyle Cordes. He also preceded her in death and she continued to reside in Beaver, Oklahoma for 53 years.
Survivors include her daughter Kim and husband Bill Patrick, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
Patsy was passionate about providing the best education and creating learning opportunities for her students. She loved to dance and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Patsy was available and interested in her extended family of nieces and nephews. Patsy was well loved by Ron and Doyle. She also had many fur babies over the years who touched her heart. But her pride and joy was her daughter Kim and with the addition of Bill the family was complete. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11 at the First Baptist Church in Beaver with the Rev. Jerry Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Alan Clark Funeral Services.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Patsy Rist Scholarship Fund and may be left at Clark Funeral Home.
