Pastor Robert W. “Bob” Warner

Pastor Robert W. (Bob) Warner, age 58, of Johnson, Kansas died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Stanton County Hospital in Johnson, Kansas. He was born August 12, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Willard Edmond and Evelyn Dorothy (Gillard) Warner.

Pastor Warner grew up and graduated high school in Chicago. He accepted Christ at the age of 21 at First Baptist Church in Burbank Illinois, and was called into the ministry. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri from ’76-’80 where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Theology and met his wife, Louise (Gum). They were married on December 23, 1978 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He worked in Hutchinson, Kansas for a year; before moving to Flint, Michigan for three years where he served as a youth pastor. He then moved back to Hutchinson and worked for ten years at Central Christian Schools; before moving to Johnson in 1993 where he served as the minister for the First Baptist Church. Pastor had also worked at Collingwood Grain in Big Bow, Kansas and was currently a substitute teacher and paraprofessional for USD 452.

Survivors include his wife, Louise of the home; three sons, Joe Warner and wife Melissa of Raleigh, North Carolina, Bob Warner of Savannah, Georgia, Billy Warner and wife Brittney of Augusta, Kansas; one daughter, Sarah Reiss and husband Joel of Hutchinson, Kansas; one sister, Deloris Harr of Oaklawn, Illinois; three grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pastor Warner is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Dottie Benson.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson, Kansas.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at at the First Baptist Church in Johnson, Kansas with Pastor Randy Parks and Pastor Carl Kissell officiating.
Interment: Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park in Hutchinson, Kansas.

There will also be a funeral service Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Westside Baptist Church in Hutchinson, Kansas with Pastor Tim Adrian and Pastor Ron Aulgur officiating.
