Owen Dale Strait, 87, of Liberal, Kansas passed away February 15, 2020 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

Dale was born December 1932 on the Strait Homestead southeast of Hooker, the son of Leo and Rena Frazee Strait.

He attended school at Adams, Oklahoma, graduating from Adams High School with the Class of 1950. He then entered the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and received his honorable discharge in 1956. He was a member of the Hooker American Legion.

Dale began plumbing in 1971 and work for the people of Hooker until he retired in 1998.

He was united marriage to Emelie Montoya Flores on December 28, 1973. He was a loving husband and friend.

Those preceding him in death are his parents, his sister Doris Ansley Hillman and brother Warren Strait.

Dale is survived by his wife, Emelie of Liberal, Kansas; his daughter, Tammy of Arkansas; two sons, Steve and Noemi Flores of Wichita, Kansas and Gary and Pam Flores of Liberal, Kansas; niece, Debbie and Roy Dean Cooper of Atoka, Oklahoma; niece, Monica and Mark Hanson of Wichita, Kansas, nephew, Dennis Ansley of Liberal, Kansas along with twelve grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Inurnment services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Oklahoma. The Jack Goosen American Legion Post 137 will conduct military services.

Memorials are suggested to the Hooker Cemetery and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945.
