Oscar Armando Capir Mendez, age 25, died on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was born on December 22, 1999, in Zacualpa, Quiche, Guatemala, to Juan Capir Ruiz and Maria Mendez Mendez.

Oscar grew up in Guatemala and came to the United States to pursue the American dream. He worked hard as a kitchen assistant. Oscar was very liked and respected by his co-workers. He will be remembered as a kind man and will be missed.

He is survived by his parents, Juan Capir Ruiz and Maria Mendez Mendez of Guatemala, and

Uncle, Victor Mendez Mendez of Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

An interment will be in Guatemala at a later date.
