Oma V. Bangs, 97, Liberal, KS , died Wednesday October 5, 2011 .
at Wheatridge Park Care Center, Liberal, KS.

She was born August 8, 1914 in Bonita, AZ , the daughter of Dan W.
& Millie A. Long.

After moving to Liberal, she worked for the Blakemore family
for many years, later the Warren Hotel, and the Liberal
Stock Yard.

Oma loved to sew and work in her garden, and being with her family.

She was a member of the Central Christian Church where she taught
Sunday School, she was a volunteer for Southwest Medical Center Auxiliary.

On January 22, 1938 , she married Willard S. Bangs at Garden City, KS ,
he died March 4, 1981 .

She is survived by two daughters, Sharen VanRamshorst and husband
Lee, Lone Tree, CO ; Connie McPhail and husband Bruce, Liberal, KS;
two brothers, Russell Arnold, Cassville, MO ; Roy Arnold, Miami, OK ;
four sisters, Alice Howard, Joplin, MO ; Maggie Williamson, Miami, OK;
Margaret Philer, Miami, OK; Dannell Willim, Miami, OK; four grandchildren
& eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,
four brothers & four sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 A.M. Monday at the
Central Christian Church with Pastor Spencer Powers presiding.

Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 1-8 P.M. Saturday and
Sunday. The family will be present 6-8 P.M. Sunday to greet friends.

The family suggests memorials to the Cookson Hills School and
Children’s Home in care of the mortuary.
