Ollie “Mama” B Bounds

Ollie “Mama” B Bounds, age 100, died Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on October 19, 1920, the daughter of Elijah L Major and Emma Evans Major in Hillsboro, Texas.

Ollie received her education in Hillsboro.
She married George M Bounds on July 19, 1936, in Hillsboro. They were married 63 years until his death on November 19, 1999. Ollie was a very loving mother of one son, George Ray and one daughter, Carolyn. She was a wonderful cook; her specialty being fried chicken and homemade pies. Ollie was a Door Greeter for K-Mart for many years and enjoyed playing Bingo.
Survived by:
Her daughter, Carolyn Symons and husband Victor of Liberal, Kansas
Her son, George Ray Bounds of Pawnee, Oklahoma
Six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nine great great grandchilddren and many great great great grandchildren who will sadly miss her.

Ollie was preceded in death by her husband, George M Bounds, and both her parents.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 8, 2021, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Street Liberal, Kansas

Interment will follow at the Liberal Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home.
