Oland R. Cook

Oland R. Cook, age 82, passed away Monday evening, November 28, 2016, at the Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, Wakeeney, Kansas.
 
He was born November 22, 1934, at Meade, Kansas, the son of Clifford Ray and Lenora Elizabeth (Mabery) Cook.  As a young boy he attended the Meade school system, graduating from Meade High School in 1955.  He later joined the United States Army in 1957.  After his discharge, he began his career working for the State of Kansas, Gray County, and a car salesman.
 
On September 3, 1960, he married Marian F. Blagrave at Clayton, New Mexico.  She survives.

                                                            Richard Cook of Liberal, Kansas
 
A sister,                                                Dorothy Leis of Minneola, Kansas
 
Seven Grandchildren,                                    Dania Thomas (Bryan McVey) of Garden City, Kansas; Pamela Jager (Brad) of
Manhattan, Kansas, Dustin Schreiber (Dallas) of Carey, Idaho, Bluelake Pritchett of Emporia, Kansas, Michael Stefan of Dodge City, Kansas, Amanda Stefan of Chandler, Arizona, Ty Neier (Caitlyn) of Gilbert, Arizona
 
Five Great-grandchildren,                        Jacoby McVey of Garden City, Kansas, Harper Jager & Adalyn Jager of
Manhattan, Kansas, Cash Jackson and Lainey Schreiber of Carey, Idaho
 
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Thomas on November 8, 2015; his parents; a brother, Gordon Cook; and a sister, Dolly Ann Watts.
 
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2016, at the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.  As he requested, cremation has taken place.
 
The family would welcome memorials to the Hospice of the Prairie or the Trego County EMS in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
