Norman S. Reiss

Norman S. Reiss, age 85, passed away Tuesday morning, April 18, 2023, at the El Dorado Care and Rehabilitation Center, El Dorado, Kansas.

He was born April 18, 1938, at Meade, Kansas, the son of Benjamin F. and Ruby C. (Jones) Reiss. As a young boy, he attended school in Meade, graduating from Meade High School in 1956. He later joined the Kansas National Guard, serving for several years. After his service, he began his career in farming for many years.

He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Finney of Spring Hill, KS and Linda McDonald and husband Marc of Emporia, KS; a brother, Clifford Reiss and wife Joyce of Dodge City; and three grandchildren, Braden Finney, Landon Finney of Spring Hill, KS, and Sarah McDonald of Emporia, KS.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Loren Reiss.

A Graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Strickland, officiating.

The family would welcome memorials to Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
