Norman J. Brungardt

Norman J. Brungardt, 86, of Liberal, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on May 19, 1937 to Isidore V. and Mary (Braun) Brungardt at Gorham, KS.

On August 15, 1959 he married Sharon Kay Conner at Russell, KS; she preceded him in death on May 17, 2009.

Norman grew up on the family farm north of Wakeeney, KS. He and Sharon moved to Plains, KS in 1969 and later moved to Liberal in 1972. Norman worked as an Oilfield Contractor; he never retired but began to slow down in 2007. His favorite hobbies involved riding his CanAm Spyder, car racing, and riding four wheelers with the family. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Liberal.

Norman is survived by his three children, Norman J. Brungardt, Jr. and Monique Bailey of Liberal, KS, Julie Brungardt of Tulsa, OK; and Mark Allen Brungardt of Liberal, KS; Brother, Jim Brungardt and wife Barbara of Liberal, KS; Six Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by Father, Isidore V. Brungardt, Mother, Mary Brungardt, Brother, Francis Brungardt, Sister, Rita Cochran, Sister, Dorothy Melton

There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place per Norman’s wishes.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
