Norma W. Scheller

Norma W. Scheller, age 95, of Elkhart, Kansas died April 3, 2011 at the Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born December 3, 1915 in Wagner, Illinois the daughter of Tully and Viola (Ritchie) Waldeck.
Norma graduated from Arkansas City High School in Arkansas City, Kansas. She attended teaching college in Winfield, Kansas. Norma taught school in Arkansas City, Kansas for 11 years in a one room school house. She married Elmer Scheller on May 18, 1949. She moved to Morton County in 1956. Norma was a homemaker, served as a leader for Watch Us Grow 4-H club for 15 years, and worked at Duckwall’s for eight years. She enjoyed growing flowers and gardening, crocheting, canning, scrap booking, and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Burns and husband Roger of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Terry Farrell of Murrieta, California; one brother Leslie Waldeck and wife Edie of Arkansas City, Kansas; four granddaughters, Dawn Spann and husband Bryan, Amanda Osborne and husband Alan, Mycah Boldt and husband Derek, Breanne Wasenar and fiancé Cyril Wiggins; five great grandchildren, Cameron and Cody Spann, Zackary and Madelyn Osborne and Jackson Boldt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; and two brothers, Ralph Waldeck and Kenneth Waldeck.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas with Pastor Ron Crosley presiding. Friends may call Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
