Nora (Anderson) Swafford

Nora (Anderson) Swafford, age 91, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born October 24, 1919 in Stevens County, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Jessie (Sillin) Anderson.
Nora graduated from Preston High School in Preston, Kansas. Nora married Milton L. Swafford in 1942 in Ashland, Kansas. She was a longtime Hugoton resident; and worked as the head cashier for 35 years at Citizens State Bank. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Nora enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Todd Swafford of Hugoton, Kansas, Michael Swafford and wife Jackie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Milton D. Swafford of Casper, Wyoming; one sister, Betty Brown of Jessieville, Arkansas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Nora is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton; brother, Woody Anderson; four sisters, Lillian Reynolds, Mary Madden, Dorothy Thompson, and Alice Demuth.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church of Hugoton in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.
