Nila Belle (Hoskins) Nusser, age 90, of Elkhart, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Morton County Senior Living Community in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born November 7, 1926, in Cimarron County, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Ora (Crismon) Hoskins.

Nila Belle attended schools in the area and graduated from Texhoma, Oklahoma. She was a beautician’s apprentice when she met Arden Nusser, who she married on March 9, 1946, in Clovis, New Mexico. To this union, three girls were born; Ardith, Rena, and Ramona.

Together with Arden, she owned a dairy and farmed east of Elkhart until they retired in 1988. Neila Belle was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Elkhart. She enjoyed fishing with Arden, crafts, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Ardith Ellis and husband Rick of St. Charles, Missouri, Rena Brewer and husband Tom of Elkhart, Kansas, Ramona Johnson and husband Bob or Elkhart, Kansas; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Earl Hoskins of Elkhart, Kansas.

Nila is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Lucille (Hoskins) Jones.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Christ Lutheran Church in Elkhart, Kansas, with Reverend Patrick Gumz officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 7:30 PM, with family present from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
