Nettie Marie Byrum

Nettie Marie Byrum, 91, died Monday, January 9, 2023 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas. She was born on October 8, 1931. She was the daughter of Nettie R. (Comstock) and John R. Morris.

She was married to John W. Byrum. They married in Perryton, Texas on February 19, 1953. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2014. Marie and Johnny lived in her mother’s house with her mother after they moved back to Liberal from Arkansas.

Marie worked at Spaniols car dealerships in Liberal, and then for many years at the customer service window for the Western Power Company. She was also a volunteer at the Liberal Memorial Library. Marie loved to read. She was also good friends with many ladies her age with whom she spent much time, and was loved by all. She was dearly loved at Wheat Ridge Care Center, and was treated with dignity, respect and loving care by her friends and staff there.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John, and her son, Terry.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Faith Tabernacle Church, 514 N Kansas Ave, Liberal, Kansas, 67901, with Pastor Rex Petty presiding. Burial to follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Liberal.
