Nellie Magdeline Spencer

Nellie Magdeline Spencer, 98, of Liberal, KS, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Pioneer Manor, in Hugoton, KS.

She was born April 19, 1917, to Thomas B. and Betty (Brown) Dutton, at Lindsey, OK.

She attended school in and around Cushing, OK.

She married Wayne Cecil Spencer March 3, 1937, at Drumright, OK. He died August 3, 1997.

She was a homemaker, bookkeeper and seamstress. She made welding caps and mailed them throughout the world. Since 2000, she was owner/manager of Affordable Storage.

Survivors include
1 Son: Terry Spencer, of Liberal, KS.
2 Daughters: Sharon Spencer, of Phoenix, AZ, and Imogene O’Rourke and husband Johnny, of Cushing, OK.
2 Grandchildren: Amy Michelle Benton, and Matthew Wayne Spencer.
2 Great-Grandchildren: Quinton Robert Benton, and Braden Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers Wesley Davis “Wes” Dutton, Abe Gordon Dutton, and Thomas William “Tommy” Dutton; 4 sisters Eliza Jennings, Minnie Floyd, Maggie Mae Boles, and Fannie Boles.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Arlen Ankle, officiating. Private burial will take place in Fairlawn Cemetery, at Cushing, OK.

Visitation will be 1-8:00 p.m. Friday, at Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.
