Nellie C. Kuykendall

Nellie C. Kuykendall, 96, Turpin, OK, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011,
at the Satanta District Hospital, Satanta, KS.

She was born October 7, 1914 at Lorena, OK, the daughter of Marvin A.
& Liddia C. Campbell Hopke.

She graduated Turpin High school in 1933. She had worked at several
local cafes in Liberal, and later the Turpin School lunchroom for many
years. She married Merrell Kuykendall November 19, 1938 at
Liberal, KS, he died June 1, 2001. She was a charter member of the Turpin Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Rebekah Lodge
and the Jolly Neighbors Extension Club, all of Turpin.

She is survived by one son, Ron Kuykendall and wife Barbara,
Beaver, OK; one daughter, Carolyn Jines, Turpin, OK; five grandchildren,
Sherlyn Greer and husband Rodger, Sublette, KS; Merlyn Sawyers
and husband Bill, Turpin, OK; Michele Reust, Guymon, OK; Angie Dame and husband Billy, Ames, OK; Cameron Kuykendall, Oklahoma City, OK; fourteen great-grandchildren,
Garrett, Brock & Rachel Walter, Megan, Kelsey & Colton Greer,
Kaylee, Justin & Tayler Sawyers, Seth & Heidi Reust, Kaitlin,
Rebekah & Jenah Dame; four great-great-grandchildren,
Jordan, Konner & Lucas Younkers, Brayden Walter. She was
preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the
Turpin Baptist Church, with Pastor Jason Loggins and
Rev. David Gordon presiding.

Interment will be in the Independence Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 4-8 P.M. Thursday,
9 A.M.-8 P.M. Friday and 9-11 A.M. Saturday.

The family suggest memorials to the Turpin Baptist Church in care of the
mortuary.
