Nelda J. Rexroat:UPDATE

Nelda J. Rexroat, age 78, of Ulysses, Kansas died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at her home in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born October 11, 1936 in Wellington, Texas, the daughter of James Henry “Bus” and Mona (Bell) Woodman.

Nelda has lived in Ulysses since the 1970’s. She was a partner in Sweazy Construction and sold home interior décor. She also worked at Kep’s Toggery. Nelda married Ramon Rexroat on May 10, 1996 in Amarillo, Texas. She was a member of the Celebration Baptist Church. Nelda enjoyed decorating, cooking and being a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ramon of their home; two sons, Terry Mixon and wife Ione of Amarillo, Texas, Jerry Mixon and wife Kim of Amarillo, Texas; daughter, Kerri Kim Blair of Satanta, Kansas; step-daughter, Brenda Rexroat of Tulsa, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nelda is preceded in death by brother, Don Woodman; daughter, Lisa Adams; and two grandsons, Sam and Corey.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Celebration Baptist Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Jon Becker officiating. Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to DuGood Events, Celebration Baptist Church or donor’s choice all in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
