Naomi J. Howe, age 82, died Friday, October 20, 2023, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born July 9, 1941, in Mulhall, Oklahoma, the daughter of Claud Earl and Ruby Luida (Miller) Mott.

Naomi grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Marshall High School in 1959. While living in Guthrie, Oklahoma, she worked as a bank teller and an office clerk. Naomi moved to Elkhart, Kansas, in 1980 and worked at Morton County Hospital as a ward clerk, retiring in 2014. She enjoyed lady bugs, Eeyore and crocheting. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved playing cards with them and attending as many of her grandchildren’s activities as possible. Naomi also enjoyed traveling; whenever asked if she wanted to travel with the family she always said yes.

Naomi is survived by her children, Teresa Carlile and husband, Bill of Elkhart, Mark Howe and wife, Lana of Sublette, and Kelly Howe and wife, Emily of Elkhart; grandchildren, James Jenkins and wife, Joi, Kyle Jenkins, Lacey Fitzgerald and husband, Will, Wyatt Howe and wife, JaCee, Shanie Howe, Garrett Howe, Mylen Howe, and Jamie Carlile; and great-grandchildren, Josslynn, Logan, Jayleigh, Jake, Henry, Jackson and Liam.

Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Ruby Mott; and sister, Ruth Jones.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene in Elkhart with Reverend Roberto Ibarra officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart High School Student Council for the Pink Out Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
